Eden Pics
Just a quick Eden post.
Yes, it's true.....she has colic. For those of you still trying to decide if you want to join the world of parenthood or not, you might want to stop reading now. For those of you who have been down this road before with one of your children, PLEASE let me know if you have any tricks to MAKE THE CRYING STOP!!!! :) Eden just has a mild case, but man, it is quite challenging to stay sane when you know that most of your nights are going to be rough. She does great in the day-time, but starting at about 9 or 10pm she starts crying. It doesn't last all night, but once she finally calms down enough to actually sleep, it's time to feed her again. She eats every 2 to 2 1/2 hours so by the time she's done eating and has been burped and put in bed, I only have about an hour or so to try and get some sleep myself before starting the process all over again. Like I said, it's challenging, but I'd still do it all over again if given the opportunity...I'd just save my money and hire a night-time nanny!!! :)
Here are some recent pics of her:

Boo at the Zoo
We were invited to go to Boo at the Zoo with some friends of ours last Friday and we had a great time! Ella actually left her hat on long enough for us to take a picture!

Ouch!
I called the doctor this morning to make sure we didn't need to put anything on Ella's blisters since a couple of them popped over night, but they wanted us to go ahead and bring her in to make sure that they weren't infected. So, David took her in at 4:15 this afternoon and Dr. Shori said that they look OK right now, but she wants us to clean her hand several times a day and apply an ointment...and she wants to see her again next week because one of the blisters (between her ring finger and her middle finger) is on a joint and apparently that is the worst place for kids to get burned because if the skin heals the wrong way they can have all sorts of issues down the road.
Ella is handling the situation like a trooper, but I still hate the fact that I wasn't there in time to prevent this whole situation from happening in the first place!
Luckily she did not burn the palm of her hand, but if you look closely you can see the three blisters on the tips of her fingers (middle, ring and pinky) and then the big nasty one at the bottom of her ring finger.

Two Weeks Down
Two weeks down and we've already seen Dr. Shori (the girl's pediatrician) more than once! :) We took Eden in for her one week check up and she was fine....but not even a day later we noticed that her tongue was completely coated in what looked like white paint. It turns out that she has "thrush," a yeast infection on her tongue. YUCK!!! She's doing much better now, but we had to give her one particular medicine every six hours for a week, and now we are on medicine number two which seems to be clearing it up. On top of the thrush mess, Ella gave Eden a little head cold so we took both girls in to make sure their lungs and ears were OK.
The beginning of the appointment started out with Ella all upset and confused....
(Eden could have cared less what was going on!)
....but then daddy took over and Ella was in a much better mood!
Ella's getting a little more comfortable with the idea of having Eden around. Last night (after David and I got home from a friend's wedding....hence the tie!) David asked Ella if she wanted to feed Eden and she immediately jumped up on the couch! :)
So, as we enter week three, I ask for your prayers. :) We all got up and got dressed for our first church trip this morning and right as we were about to go downstairs to leave Ella started screaming. I looked over and she was holding my HOT straightening iron in her right hand!!!! Yes, she burned several of her little fingers and cried the hardest we have ever seen her cry. We soaked her hand in cold water and sprayed burn medicine on it, but she would not stop crying so we decided to stay home. After a nap she seemed to be much better, but she now has little blisters on her fingers and it makes my heart hurt to know she is in pain.

Ella Update
A lot of you have been asking how Ella is "adjusting" so I thought I would post a few pictures of her favorite things right now.....
1) BOOKS!!! If you want Ella to like you, just read her a book. You'll be friends for life. :)
1) BOOKS!!! If you want Ella to like you, just read her a book. You'll be friends for life. :)
2) Walking around with her blanket over her head. (Possibly hiding from the crying???)
3) Riding her new bike and honking the horn a million times to see if she can drive her father crazy!
4) And finally......throwing a fit until we take Eden out of the vibrating bouncing seat so that she can sit in it!!!!
All in all, she hasn't been too bad, but we did have a few minor incidents last week (after we got home from the hospital) where discipline had to be enforced. :) I've been told it will just take a little time, so hopefully she will continue to "accept" all of the new changes at our house. Bless her heart...she's just so confused!

Family Pics
So....Ella didn't want much to do with our first attempt at taking "posed" family pictures, but we got a few cute ones out of her by bribing her with M&M's in between pictures!
